증상
2002 Ford Focus SE Wagon DOHC Zetec 엔진의 밸브 커버 가스켓 교체 작업 중 엔진 내부로 이물질이 떨어질 경우 발생할 수 있는 손상에 대한 우려
처리 내용
이물질로 인한 손상은 실제로 발생할 수 있지만, 밸브 커버 가스켓은 그리 강하게 붙어있지 않으며 순정품의 경우 대부분 한 조각으로 깔끔하게 제거됩니다. 작업 시 엔진을 적당히 따뜻하게 예열한 후(정상 작동 온도 아님) 커버를 열어 시간을 가지고 천천히 진행하세요. 가스켓을 긁어낼 때는 안쪽에서 바깥쪽으로 또는 길게 문질렀다가 손목을 꺾어 바깥쪽으로 마무리하세요. 이물질 낙하 예상 지점에 깨끗한 매트를 깔아두세요. 가스켓을 완전히 제거한 후 문질러서 스폰지로 표면을 깔끔하게 닦으세요. 새 가스켓을 설치할 때 양쪽에 고온용 실리콘을 아주 얇게 펴 바르세요. 혹시 이물질이 내부로 떨어졌다면, 크면 집어내고 작으면 에어 컴프레셔로 불어내면 됩니다.
