증상
뒷바퀴가 주행 중(시속 50km)에 완전히 떨어져 나감. 떨어지기 전에 소음이 발생했음.
처리 내용
이미지에서 보이는 바와 같이 휠 베어링 어셈블리가 완전히 손상된 것으로 보임. 내부 레이스(inner race)만 남아있고 나머지는 모두 손상됨. 포커스 모델의 경우 뒷 허브 어셈블리가 베어링을 통해 스핀들에 부착되어 있음. 베어링은 캐슬 너트(castle nut)로 고정되어 있으며, 이미지에서도 이 너트가 보임. 베어링은 기본적으로 세 부분으로 구성됨: 내부 레이스, 외부 레이스, 롤러 베어링. 내부 레이스는 스핀들(캐슬 너트가 있는 부분)에 고정되고, 외부 레이스는 허브(브레이크 드럼과 휠이 부착되는 부분)에 끼워짐. 두 레이스 사이의 롤러 베어링이 휠을 회전시킴. 베어링과 캐슬 너트의 조합이 휠/브레이크 드럼/허브를 차량에 고정시킴. 떨어진 타이어/휠/허브 등을 회수할 수 있다면 확인 가능.
