And that is the carbon footprint break even point. For a vehicle like this that typically doesn’t do many miles, it’s going to be worse than the ICE equivalent for quite some time.Perhaps a better way to tax EV’s would be to base the rate around its theoretical lifetime carbon footprint compared to a notional “average EV” baseline. I imagine this would be ~50% greater. Manufacturers would then be more incentivized to offer smaller, lighter, and more efficient EV options.
