증상
1994 뷰익 센추리 3.1L V6 엔진에 10W-30 오일이 가득 차 있으나, 오일 리저버 캡에는 5W-30을 지정함. 플로리다에 거주하며 최저 기온이 화씨 18도 수준이므로 저온 점도(W 앞의 숫자)가 문제가 될지 우려함.
처리 내용
플로리다의 기후 조건에서는 10W-30 vs 5W-30의 차이는 전혀 문제가 되지 않음. 고마일리지 엔진의 경우 더 점도가 높은 오일을 권장하기도 함. 저온 지역에 사는 것이 아닌 이상 걱정할 필요 없음. 그러나 오일 내 냉각수 혼입이 발견되었다면 이를 반드시 해결해야 함. 냉각수가 오일 펌프나 오일 갤러리를 막으면 심각한 문제 발생 가능. 인테이크 가스켓을 교체하고 오일을 교환한 후 주행할 것.
