증상
엔진에 오일이 너무 많으면 엔진이 작동할 때 크랭크축이 크랭크케이스 바닥의 오일과 접촉합니다. 크랭크축이 고속으로 회전하면서 오일 표면을 때릴 때마다 공기가 끌려가면서 기포가 생기고, 금방 오일 전체가 거품으로 가득 찹니다.
처리 내용
오일 펌프는 액체를 펌프질하도록 설계되었기 때문에 거품이 많은 오일(압축 가능한 가스 포함)을 제대로 펌프질할 수 없습니다. 펌프가 실제로는 공기를 빨아들이게 되어 오일이 필요한 부분까지 전달되지 않습니다. 그 결과 오일이 너무 많으면 오일이 부족할 때와 같은 방식으로 엔진이 손상될 수 있습니다. 다만 1쿼트 정도 초과한 수준이면 심각한 문제가 되지 않을 가능성이 높습니다(오일 종류에 따라 다름).
