It's a single capex event at the start of a 25 year period versus open market economic exposure to factors the U.K. has zero control over every single day. One task worth doing is stopping to consider who has been paid to try and convince people otherwise and to get them to remain trapped and paying vast sums to overseas entities?Park life.

There is no point looking at a single snap shot in time - annual averages are what matter so long as the lights don't go out at any given moment (and they're not doing that). The transition has already been hugely successfully taking place for a couple of decades. I am Kate's records only go back to 2012, but at that time, 71% of our annual electricity generation came from fossil fuels and 7.1% from renewables. Last year, 32% came from fossil fuels and 45% from renewables. 2023 was the first year that renewables were responsible for more generation than fossil fuels in the UK, and it's only carried on at pace from there.People need to just equate the slow switch to how high streets migrated to out of town shopping centres. Some people really bhed in the early 90s but 30 years on the whole way we shop has changed and few have even realised it. Much of the problem comes from fear preventing the comprehension of time which results in some people thinking the change is somehow going to be rapid and they aren't prepared. It's a change that few will even notice as it will span at least two generations. What does happen incredibly quickly is the economic fkification by fossil fuel prices at the hands of third world gibbons. And the chance to slowly migrate the U.K. back to not being so comically beholden to those gibbons mustn't be missed. In the meantime, just keep burning gas and petrol and having fun.

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
