증상
시동을 걸려고 할 때 엔진이 시동이 걸리지 않고 딸깍거리는 소리만 난다. 2개월 전에 배터리를 교체했고 지난주에 튠업을 받았으며, 배터리 부스팅도 시도했다. 스타터나 저온이 원인일 수 있다고 의심된다.
처리 내용
키를 돌렸을 때 딸깍거리는 소리가 예전처럼 나는지 확인한다. 엔진이 점화되면 엔진의 윙윙거리는 소리가 들려야 한다. 시동을 걸면서 액셀을 밟아본다. 실린더가 점화되고 있다면 액셀을 밟으면 소리가 커지고 저온에서 시동이 걸릴 수 있다. 고음의 딸깍거림이나 스타터 모터의 윙윙거림 소리만 들린다면 다음 중 하나일 가능성이 높다: 불량한 스타터 또는 크랭크샤프트와의 연결 불량, 배터리의 낮은 전압. 최근에 배터리를 확인했으므로 후자일 가능성은 낮다. 스타터 상태를 직접 확인해볼 수 있다. 다른 가능성으로는 디스트리뷰터가 있다. 스파크 플러그가 점화되지 않으면 엔진음이 들리지 않을 것이다. 따라서 디스트리뷰터나 그 연결부가 불량일 수 있다. 진단 컴퓨터에 접근할 수 있다면 도움이 될 것이다.
