That isn't sustainable, even the Abu Dhabi owners can't prop that up, hence why McLaren sold off their MTC Centre and lease it back, and also sold off their Heritage car collection as well.MTC was sold by GNL in December 2025, for £250m, they originally purchased in 2021 for £170m. The new owners are McLaren, or at least a subsidiar

Porsche managed it, and Cayennes and Macans are pretty commonplace these days. The others though in terms of volumes on the road still sit a long way behind JLR and the Asian offerings. Why does McLaren think it will emulate Porsche rather than AM/Lambo/Ferrari?I appreciate AM's SUV has been a bit of a flop, but I don't think you can call the Urus a failure. Lamborghini are selling thousands and thousands of them.Mclaren to me are a sports and super car brand. It doesn't lend itself to an SUV all that well. I suspect they will face the same issue Aston Martin face with the DBX, it just isn't as good as a Urus.I wouldn’t (and didn’t) use the word “failure”; more niche. A quick and possibly inaccurate google suggests over 70000 Cayenne sales worldwide in 2025. Vs 7000 Uruses and 1700 DBXs. So yes, Uruses out sell DBXs comfortably but they are still rare things compared to Cayennes and the much more common JLR and Asian SUVs.
