I found the manual gearbox so key to enjoying this experience, get it braked down, heel and toed ready for the turn into the straight (you can hear it in some of the videos) - just so key to enjoying an engine like this that it's not connected to an auto of any kind. It sounds so much better than my other v8s, the jag one being good, SLK being fine, the VW one in the Panorama coming last by a long way!I'm back on track at Blyton next Friday at the super annual track day, and then doing Knock Hill Newcomers anti-clockwise on April 30th.Edited by 0a on Saturday 11th April 00:52

Hallo zusammen, bis vor ca. 2 Jahren gab es bei BMW doch immer die Möglichkeit, im sogenannten Vorvertragspool ein nach Wunsch konfiguriertes Auto einzustellen. Auf dieses Gesuch haben sich dann BMW Mitarbeiter/Werksangehörige gemeldet, die das Auto dann für einen bestellen wollten. Gibt es das nicht mehr? Die entsprechende Seite bei BMW existiert offenbar nicht mehr. Gruß marcelul

I started this thread really with a question about pros and cons of putting an AJP or something else in my scrap Cerbera and it has morphed into a project build thread over time. Brief history:I was thinking about buying myself a fun sports car, there's nothing new in the £50-80k range I would particularly be interested in. Had to feel special, had to be light, "analogue" and not overly-assisted. Had to be manual and i prefer a large capacity NA to forced induction.
