증상
Toyota Prius에서 4주 전에 12V 배터리를 교체했는데, 2주 후 다시 완전 방전됨. 충전기가 배터리 전압이 0.1V로 떨어진 상태에서 충전을 시작하지 않음. 단기간에 심한 방전이 발생함.
처리 내용
Prius는 메인 파워에서 12V 배터리를 충전하는 스텝다운 볼티지 레귤레이터 시스템을 갖고 있으며, 이 시스템에 문제가 있어 배터리를 충전하지 못하고 있을 가능성이 높음. 기존 배터리는 양호하지만 충전기가 인식할 수 있는 전압 아래로 떨어져 있음. 이를 해결하려면 제2의 12VDC 배터리를 병렬로 연결하여 기준 전압을 제공하면 충전기가 작동함. 충전기가 시작되면 보통 정상 작동함. 배터리를 빨리 충전해야 함 - 방전 상태로 오래 방치되면 배터리 판에 황산염 결정이 형성되는 황산화(Sulfation) 현상이 진행되어 회복 불가능해질 수 있음.
