Rob 131 Sport said: It would be good to receive an explanation from someone that works in a main dealer servicing department regarding the procedural elements of the department and why they require your car there so early. Ex dealership person here but never worked for any dealer with lots of glass, sharp suits or with an abundance of staff and never wanted to. Max of 6 techs where I worked, two front of shop so far more connected process. The drop off situation, again huge variations between sites but it's preferred to have work in, ready for starting to better plan, accommodate issues, dela
It's really down to efficiency, and when you reach a certain point, efficiency plummets:(1) My local independent "Motor Engineer". Drop the keys off, reaffirm what needs to be done, wait for phone call that it's ready, DON'T pay - he sends me an invoice by email. Proper personal service. (2) Main dealer - Call some Central booking team, tell them which branch you want to book at, get disappointed when the only date available is 3 weeks past your ideal date, you're not confident that they've booked everything in that you asked for. Or do this online and wait, and wait, and wait for someone to confirm the booking.Turn up to be met by the pointless over make-uped dolly bird who asks you what you want. Book the car in on the tablet and put keys in the box that opens. Dolly bird scripts "Have a lovely rest of your day!" that she has said to the previous 10 chumps as you leave. What you don't realise is that the valet guy has at least washed and hoovered your car because of the queue in servicing. Tech has to queue up with all the other Techs to be issued with a service kit because parts are gold and not they are not trusted to access them. During the service, the Tech needs a 10p widget and has to queue up for one and have the 10p allocated to your invoice. Then wait. Wait for a possible phone call that something else is wrong or they don't have the parts to fix your flux capacitor. Then wait and wait. By 4pm you get anxious that you have no idea of when you can pick the car up and they close at 6pm and it takes you an hour and a half to get to the dealer with no transport. Do you call them, do you leave now? Do ya feel lucky punk.Executive decision, you leave, fretting at the traffic and walk to get to the dealer. You get met by dolly bird and finally meet a service advisor. You pay, get in the car and look at your invoice. It's 10 to 6 and your car was serviced and finished at 10am......

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
