증상
엔진이 눈에 띄는 성능 저하나 연비 변화 없이 오일을 소모하고 있는지 확인하고 싶음. 배기가스에서 하얀 연기도 보이지 않음. 1000km당 약 800-900ml의 오일 손실. 주차 후 엔진 하단에 작은 오일 방울이 떨어져 있음.
처리 내용
먼저 오일 누유 부분을 정확히 파악하고 수리해야 함. 누유가 있는 상태에서는 엔진이 실제로 얼마나 많은 오일을 소모하는지 판단할 수 없음. 주행 중 더 많은 오일이 새고 있을 수 있음. 소량의 오일 연소는 배기가스에서 연기나 냄새가 나타나지 않을 수 있음. 연소량이 증가하면 냄새가 나기 시작하고, 더 많아지면 배기가스에서 연기가 눈에 띄게 됨. 성능 측면: 오일이 실린더 내로 유입되어 연소되면 압축률이 저하되고 완전한 연소가 이루어지지 않아 출력 감소 가능성이 있음. 소량이면 실제로 감지되지 않을 수 있지만, 오일 연소가 심화되면 배기 시스템 저항 증가(촉매 변환기 포함)로 인해 동력 감소 발생 가능. 먼저 오일 누유처를 찾아 해결한 후 실제 오일 소모율을 정확히 진단하는 것이 중요함.
