The obvious metric would be "cost to maintain", and then you very quickly fall into trading off cost of parts Vs labour to fit parts, and the MTBF of said parts becomes part of the equation too.As a car enthusiast you might be happy to spend a few hours a few times a year keeping your car in fine fettle, but the Tard on the Clapham Jaecoo bus would simply take it to a garage and shout "CAR NO GO. FIX UM CAR." At which point the service manager loads up the parts cannon, because it's cheaper to pay a technician to replace subassemblies than it

FIX UM CAR." At which point the service manager loads up the parts cannon, because it's cheaper to pay a technician to replace subassemblies than it is to hire a mechanic and pay them to do mechanicking. Also said Tard doesn't care if the car is maintainable on 3 years and 1 day, because he'll be on the next piece of crap then.I hand my car over to the professionals rather than risking ballsing it up myself. I know where my skillset is and I also know I can earn more in the time it takes for them to do it than it costs me letting the experts do it. YMMV, but try not to judge everyone by your position. I m happy to be mechanically incompetent and am not in the slightest bit embarrassed by it. How ignorant I already said most people wouldn't get their hands dirty, after all this is a car enthusiasts website so already you've shifted the bar from "people who view a car as an appliance" to "a thing that people want to physically involve themselves with". Your typical Jaecoo-leasing person will be quite happy to never see under the covers, but for PHers that's generally untrue.

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
