A very rapid EV would still appeal to me in terms of it's outright performance/shove I think, but then it would be great to have another car where you have to work for the performance if you know what I mean in comparison though?. Morning Lee, just a friendly poke for a response to my question please as I did you the courtesy of answering yours. Which performance EVs have you driven and how did it compare with your

Thay means their entire life is more "optimised" and the only way it could be better is if they could conduct a Teams meeting whilst the car drove itself. As for the Model 3 vs BMW stuff, I distinctly remember a lane hogging Model 3 Dual Motor driver waking-up and trying to race me off a roundabout on a dual carriageway, only to find that he was still in my way several seconds later...and I was "only" in my manual M140i.Some EV users seem to believe that their repmobiles are akin to the 2nd coming of Christ but that's largely because they'd never driven anything quicker than their old 2.0 diesel before. The same people that used to say their mid-range Mondeo went like "st off a shovel".This bit is bang on. They even use the same expression. It will always be amusing.Of course, the more expensive EVs tend to be very quick, just like more expensive ICE vehicles. The cheaper ones, not so much, just like ICE vehicles, and most people drive the ordinary versions of both.Really? Where? The original point was, IIRC, that an EV gives you instant response and is always on the power as it were. That leads to the car feeling very quick and responsive. In fact, it translates to some fairly impressive rolling acceleration times - for overtaking, etc.It s not just a feeling though, even pretty ordinary family EVs are decently quick for real world driving. You don t get much more ordinary than my Enyaq and yet it matches or beats a mk 7.5 Golf GTi 230 up to and including 100mph (with the Enyaq being 0.1s quicker) with an identical 50-75mph time of 4.1s. For mid range pull over 50-75mph, the Enyaq family spec 85 is quicker than F15 BMW X5 40d with 4.1s vs 4.5 - so I don t thi

If they're all queuing at the services then the roads are clearer and safer and their family has a more pleasant Christmas lunch. Fair
