If you’ve been here long enough, you know I like to take things apart to see why they failed. Sometimes, I fix them and have a spare. Other times they are shot but nice to learn how they work and what went wrong. I think the last one I posted here was regarding the steering angle sensor for my Trailblazer that had repeated failures. I recently bought a used Ford F150. There were lots of small stuff that needed attention. One thing I noticed is the wipers didn’t seem to work correctly on intermittent mode. They just wiped continuously no matter what setting that was selected. Looking online, th

Plastigauge를 사용하여 크랭크 저널의 베어링 오일 클리어런스를 측정. 크랭크샤프트 저널 위에 Plastigauge 스트립을 놓고 베어링 캡을 조립한 후 규격에 맞게 토크를 적용. 크랭크를 회전시키지 않은 상태에서 캡을 제거한 후 눌려진 스트립의 폭을 제공된 스케일과 비교하여 실제 오일 클리어런스 측정.
2014 F150에 P235/75R17 타이어가 장착되어 있는데, P265/70R17 타이어로 교체 가능한지 확인 필요. 운전석 도어 스티커에는 P235 사양이 명시되어 있지만, 정비사는 두 규격 모두 호환된다고 함. 타이어 교체 시 트럭의 성능에 미치는 영향 우려.

차량이 시동은 걸리지만 꺼지지 않음. 스캔 툴로 점화 스위치 상태 확인 시 BCM에서는 OFF & ON 상태가 모두 보이고 RFH도 동일. 하지만 PCM은 키를 OFF 위치로 돌렸을 때 OFF 상태를 감지하지 못함. ON 상태만 인식되며 DTC는 없음. ECM 퓨즈를 뽑아야만 엔진이 꺼짐.
