Hardly an exotic or gas guzzler, much more of a run of the mill white good car. I m guessing it s about a 50% hike in someone s cost of getting to work, with a hike in the domestic energy cap coming too, this really has to start biting hard soon for a lot of families. "Biting hard soon" LOL, my Rangie cost £155 to fill the other day and I didn't have enough cash left to tip the cashier. Is that a feeble attempt

I m quite glad that there are EV sceptics, most people who are have never driven or owned one. The more people that keep to petrol or diesel the better , as it s keeps EV running costs down for people like me. If you want to stick to traditional cars please crack on.That said , many people don t have their own driveways for charging point, so I don t know what the solution is for par in that solution? I don t think anyone would have an electric car that they have to charge solely using a public charger.. why would they ? The cost would make it utterly unattractive.Well it be interesting see how smug you are in 2028 when diesel is £1.20 a litre because everyone gone EV and there is a surplus. Must be the next phase in the saga. A price last seen in 2020, is never going to happen. The sooner we realise that a transfer to a transport and energy system based more on renewables and less on oil is going to bring greater benefits, and offset an basic taxation loss on fuel. The Chinese are going to eat our lunch if we are not careful. Xi has not set up a renewables based economy because he became penpals with George Monbiot. It is because he can see that if he can position his economy to be the lead in renewables investment and technology, then he will be ahead of Western economies, still heavily dependent on the volatile and expensive oil based energy supply. Reducing fossil fuels in the supply and production chain will, if the Chinese are correct, lead to reduced cost and improved profitability. For the West, if we can replicate this, it should lead to a more stable cost base, a much reduced impact on inflationary pressures and ultimately, increase profit. All of these elements have an impact for the Exchequer, so it is a much more complex picture than losing VED to EVs.

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
