증상
VW Golf II 5단 기어에서 75~90km/h 구간에서 기어박스 휘슬음 발생. 이전 소유자가 엔진오일을 기어박스에 넣어둔 상태였고 오일은 검은색이며 저점도였음. 새 기어박스오일로 교환 후 휘슬음이 감소했으나 70km/h 이상 100km/h 이상에서도 계속 들림. 액셀을 떼거나 클러치를 밟으면 소리가 사라짐.
처리 내용
현재 상태에서 계속 운행해도 큰 문제없을 가능성이 높음. 베어링은 소음이 발생해도 상당히 오래 지속됨. 신선한 기어박스오일이 들어있고 주행에 문제없으면 현재 상태는 양호함. 베어링이 심하게 손상되지 않는 한 기어 위치가 크게 틀어지지 않을 것. 이전 소유자가 고점도 오일을 의도적으로 사용한 것이라면 이미 문제를 인지하고 있었을 가능성. 정확한 손상 정도를 파악하려면 추가 진단이 필요하지만, 현재로서는 정상 운행 가능 상태.

약 1만 마일 전에 워터펌프 어셈블리, 엔진 오일 쿨러, 냉각수 저수조를 교체하고 엔진을 플러시했습니다. 고객이 2천 마일 전부터 냉각수 누수를 호소했고, 워터펌프의 뒷부분 벨트 부근에서 누수가 발견되었습니다.
32년 후 순정 머플러에 균열이 생기기 시작했습니다.
16v was a real performance car. I don’t know how they sold so many 8v cars, when back in the mid 80’s you could get a Fiat Strada 130 TC Abarth or Lancia Delta 1.6 HF Turbo for similar money.
