See a bike in their mirror and suddenly the speeds increase meaning a massive handful of throttle to get past instead of just rolling on slightly. A lot of the time I'm just trying to get a clear run in front of me so I can ride at my own pace but the options either become:a) Settle in behind the car who seemingly checks his mirror every 3 seconds to see if he's managed to 'waste that bike behind'b) Overtake faster than intended and then hold a higher speed than intended to get rid of the tyrant.A variation on the theme for me is the insanely slow driver having just been desperate to get in front.I am more puzzled than irritated by other riders and drivers nowadays. However, one thing that does both is when, to put it politely, I am not hanging about or I am at the speed limit on a NSL road, where most would accept it is a very reasonable one.And then, someone on a bike or a car will arrive behind in a hurry, often do a bit of tailgating, finally overtake overtake, which I will never try and obstruct, and then sit in front of me at my speed.
