He still misses the E46, so I do think they must get under your skin in some ways I reckon.

Maybe I'm biased having recently done 2500 miles around Europe in my E92 M3 but it was a bloody fantastic GT car. More than happy to sit at ~130kph on the French autoroutes, plenty of torque in reserve if you needed to squirt ahead of someone. Could make very good progress out of the tollbooths without breaching 3500rpm. Very comfortable seats, fantastic air con, an intuitive (if dated) infotainment streaming our favourite music through a still very respectable sound system, quiet and well insulated at speed, and easily capable of accommodating 3 adults, their luggage plus some precautionary extras. Basically an expensive to run 330d. Only when we got to the interesting roads, we suddenly had an 8400rpm NA V8 making 414hp, running through a 7spd DCT to the rear wheels through an LSD, and a hydraulic rack communicating what the front end was doing.That is the point of an M car to me. The duality of character- a pleasant (but still special to those who know where to look) daily, that can in the right circumstances give you a driving experience rivalling some far more exotic marques. It's never going to be the best daily, nor will it ever be the most exciting weekend car. It's somewhere in the middle- the jack of all trades, master of none. That's what I want personally, and that's why I love an M car.Somebody who doesn't know Lee He had an E92 M3, from new I think and only for about a year. He DOES NOT BELIEVE THE CAR HAS PLENTY OF TORQUE. THIS IS WELL DOCUMENTED ON HERE
