I destroyed a back tire on my 2008 Subaru Impreza manual transmission with viscous coupling. The manual says all four tires must be the same size. The spare tire must only be mounted onto the rear axle when applicable. I don't need to pull a fuse to disable AWB on my manual, but automatic transmissions do. I measured the PSI on my rear driver tire (using a gauge pin - push it into the needle and a stick pops out with a reading), and I got a reading of 22 PSI. My tires are supposed to be anywhere from 30-34 PSI. The thing is, the rear driver tire (the tire in question) doesn't look flat at all. It looks just as good, if not better than the other tires. Should I fill the tire with air? I don't want to over-inflate the tire, if my gauge is giving me a bad reading. Once snow tires are changed to warm-weather tires in spring it's tempting to wash them before putting to storage so that they don't stain stuff they come into contact with. One concern is that studs might get rusty and thus their lifetime will become slightly shorter. How realistic is this concern? Do snow tire studs get rusty? Will tires require some specific drying procedure if they are washed before putting to storage?

I replaced the power steering pump on my U code engine and am having difficulty knowing the configuration of the high pressure seal(s) at the pump. I got 4 new Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires for my 2012 Camry a few months ago. One tire blew out over the weekend, it got a screw in the center of the tread and apparently lost air fast causing the sidewall to blow out. The set of tires has about 15K miles on them, they are warrantied thru 65K. Am I fine with getting just one new tire or should I get a pair? I will be getting the exact same model tire. So I ended up getting just the one tire. Don't notice any difference in handling. The Discount Tire rep said it may screw things up with the car long term but I doubt it. They do not offer tire

The transmission stopped working at approx 78,000 miles. The car completely died while driving with my children in the car. The tech said the fluid was black and there was no apparent cause of the transmission damage.

So today was that epic event of walking out into the parking lot at high noon, sun blazing, and finding out you have a completely flat tire. Skipping over the usual details about changing out a tire with insufficient equipment on scorching hot pavement, I changed out the tire for the spare and dropped the flat tire off at a tire shop for repair. Update: I actually don't even have the car anymore. But I did immediately change this tire at the time. It's my rear right tire. It has a significant bulge in the sidewall. Here are two pictures of the bulge ( original URL ): Do I need to replace it before I ever drive on it again? Should I put on the spare to go buy the new tire? Or is it fine to even go a little bit on the highway for a few days before I replace it?

When shopping for new tires from tirerack.com , the production date of the tires is listed. I'm considering tires from a 2007 production run, which would make them around 5 years old today (after damaging a tire, I'm looking at buying a pair of the same tires to match whats already on the car). I change tires seasonally between high performance summer and studless snow/ice, so a given set of tires can last me quite a while. Auto stalls at lower speeds(10 to 30 mph) when accelerating from a stop. After slowing as when entering a parking lot or making a turn, and then attempting to accelerate it stalls temporarily, maybe half a minute or so then accelerates like mad. Danger of cars behind me expecting me to proceed and I am unable to do so. Have requested toyoto dealer to check and as this is infrequent he can not confirm or fix. Same problem has been fixed by Toyota on other 2018 Camry by recall. My car has not been recalled.

My car honda CR-V is in pretty desperate need of new tires. I've put away a small amount from my last few paycheques, but it's not a whole lot. I'm curious as to whether you would feel it's a better choice to purchase cheap winter tires (GT Radial, Falken Tire, Ironman, etc.) or a high-quality all season? I can sink a little more if it means not having to purchase again in 6 months. By the way,I don't drive outside of the city at all in the winter. Working on an overheating issue on my 2008 Mustang GT. Car starts normally after sitting all night and fan starts up when I click on the AC. Let the car run (or drive it in traffic) and as soon as the needle gets to normal the fan shuts down. this of course causes the radiator to start heating up shutting down my AC before going in the RED.
