i have a 2005 saab 92x which i know has a subaru engine. would i be better off using a subaru mechanic for maintenance/repairs? i live south of boston. any recommendations?

I have an overheating problem and I've found that my #1 fan that should be coming on at or about 195 degrees isn't coming on. I've checked the fan motor, it's good, I've checked the fuse and relay and they are good. The #2 fan comes on with the air conditioner just like it should. I did find that there isn't any power to the # 30 pin on the relay. Are the #1 and #2 fans controlled through the same temperature sensor? I've replaced the temperature sensor also. Any one have an idea what might be the problem?

I am, of course talking about parts of the car itself, not the license plates and personal effects. The car is a 2002 Daewoo Lanos. It is being junked because the engine failed (the cylinder head cracked), and I decided to buy a different vehicle instead of replacing the engine. Many aftermarket hoods, especially for sports cars, make use of large cowls, ram air vents, and most commonly heat extractors on the sides of the hood. I'm a techie and we're always spending insane amounts of money to improve our computer cooling systems, as improved cooling directly correlates to higher stable processing speeds. But does this hold true for cars? I thought that most engine cooling systems were efficient enough to keep an ICE at optimal temperature in all normal conditions. My car was returned to me today with crazy residue on the windows. This caused the windows to jam and stuck when scrolling up/down. I mentioned this to the shop and they seem to fix the jamming; however, the windows, after the tint was removed, crazy amount of residue remains. Would nail polish remover be safe to use as a solution ? Should I demand the shop to fix this ?

MY WIFE'S 2018 CAMRY ROLLED AWAY DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY WHILE THE SHIFTER WAS IN PARK. IT'S GOT 33K MILES ON IT. I am writing this to complain about the 8 speed automatic transmission! My car’s tranny went out at 68,500 miles 4 MONTHS AGO. To this day, it’s still drivable but I worry any day now it will give out. I have been quoted staggering prices from 5.5k to 9k! No warning lights which was also surprising. The problem first started when I heard gear grinding sound coming front underneath the front end when decelerating. A complaint was filed on 08/07/2025 with NO response from NHTSA (complaint #116789863) about the part which Toyota is still not able to provide to ensure the safety of individuals in the car if an accident were to occur. This has been an ongoing issue since March 19,2025. Toyota just sent another update stating the part will possibly be available LATE September. We need a resolution as to when or if the part will be available so our car can be safely driven.

Front rear camera has failed. multiple codes pop up including headlight system malfunction, LDA malfunction, Pre-collision malfunction. Codes pop up after clearing cant see digital speedometer. Confirmed by dealer camera needs replaced. Costs are over 2,000 USD.

I was leaving a doctor's office and getting on the highway. When I pressed down on the accelerator, I experienced a sudden loss of power, the check engine light came on, as well as warnings about the front collision system being deactivated. It remained dangerous for me to stay on the highway but it was also difficult to exit the highway safely given the loss of power. When I brought it to a Toyota dealership, they did a diagnostic and it said my transmission had an "internal failure" despite the fact that it only has 85k miles on it.

The brakes just stopped working. Got a message on the screen about "Low Braking Power. Stop in a safe place". The engine stopped working and the pedal (brake) was very hard. Thank God I was able to stop and not crash. I checked all car stored codes\errors - no codes and the car running normally now. I know that the 2018 Camry had recall about the brake vacuum pump but somehow my car wasn't in a recall list. Thank you

I’m trying to understand why my 2011 civic (8th gen) is generating a p0128 code (coolant temp too low). It’s happened twice, spaced about 7 weeks apart. Neither engine nor cooling system has had recent work, and coolant is at normal level and has not changed level. Both times that the code showed up, the radiator fans were running, and the car had been running for a good while already, so the car seems to have gotten to 210F, which seems to be the trigger temp for the fans. On my more-or-less stock 1968 Vw Beetle...why is the steering wheel slipping (to a new position) in reference to the wheels...after installing (two) new TRW steering boxes? I had the shop install a new adjustable beam and at the same time, a new TRW steering box. Immediately thereafter when I would turn the steering wheel at slow speeds (eg parallel parking, under heavy load), and then later drive, the steering wheel would have "slipped". I'd be going straight but the wheel would be 45 degrees to one way or the other. I found that if I stopped and turned it under heavy load the other direction

I just hand my 1995 Jeep Grande Cherokee 4.0L straight 6 automatic in for tune-up (rotor, cap, wires, plugs, filters oil etc) and trans fluid service at special jeep repair shop. Also had the motor mounts and front suspension arms with bushing replaced four days after the tune up and trans service. Now after the tune-up and trans service was complete and prior to replacing the motor mounts I immediately notice more pronounced vibration in the steering wheel when stopped at a light. 만5년 9만5천정도 탔는데 예방정비 차원에서 교환했구요 생각보다 차이가 많이 나네요 보통 8만~10만정도가 수명으로 알고있는데 이정도 차이면 5만에 한번은 갈아줘야 할듯 심지어 고품 상태가 오일이 새거나 허당이거나 그런것도 아니고 작업할때만 해도 이정도면 멀쩡한거 아닌가 싶었는데 이정도로 차이날줄은 몰랐네요
