I bought this car on a bit of a whim. It popped up in my favourite Whatsapp group of petrolheads as a link back to this very site's classified section. The price was right, blue on blue was perfect, 3.4 engine ideal, the aero kit was a bonus and the mileage was intriguing. I rang the seller after, ooh, about 30 seconds deliberation with myself over whether I really needed another car right now. As it happened, someone was due to view the car about an hour after I rang. Where were we before Christmas and E39 M5's distracted me? Ah yes, all stripped down and ready for new bits to go on!It got quite expensive quite quickly in the end... Pirtek couldn't sort the pipes out for me because they're aluminium and can't be welded or crimped with their kit. They only tend to work with steel pipe. To save time and messing around with second hand parts I just bought new ones from Porsche. It wasn't cheap but I'd rather do it properly and only once than have to go back and fix it again in the near future. I sent the steering rack off for refurb and that got expensive too.

250k miles on this one. High mileage cars appear to gravitate towards me. I went to see this one courtesy of Bolidemichael of this parish. I've wanted an M5 for a while, and this one intrigued me because of the mileage and the fact that the then current owner had done all of it bar 30k! It was either going to be worn out and a waste of time, or well maintained and worth a shot. Luckily for me it was the latter. My high mileage 911 had just slightly broken on me yet not actually failed to proceed (detailed in its own thread). I needed another car while I sorted that out and this fitted the bill
