I have been watching these for a while now, probably getting on for 2 years, but haven't needed to change my car until now. My NB MX-5 of 8 years was about to fail its MOT in spectacular fashion and with a new job coming up next month I needed to change to something that was still going to be cheap to run but also entertain when required, as well as comfortable enough to be commutable in, in all weathers. I've always love BMWs, my uncle had an E36 318i Touring when I was a kid and I loved it, that was where my obsession with them began. Over the years I've liked pretty much every BMW made, some took a few years for me to grow to like but even the modern ones still get my appreciation. Out of all those cars though, there were 2 that really stood out to me as special cars, the E60 M5 and the E90 M3. In my opinion a golden era of BMW design and build quality. These two in particular attracted me because of their (perhaps vague) links to the BMW F1 involvement at the time, the nerd in me loved it.

This should have been written and posted whilst I was sat on a train this afternoon, but our glorious public transport infrastructure royally bit me in the arse when all train in and out of Birmingham New Street due to an issue with overhead power cables. Rather than abandon collection altogether, I coughed up for an Uber which I ended up sharing with a random lady who happened be to heading to Oakham as well. Honestly, it wasn’t as creepy as it sounds, even though she did ask that I didn’t murder her! This will be quite a long post introducing my new car, so I’ll break it into sections to mak

Well, as I indicated in my other thread, I jumped ship and replaced the 330i with a 530d in Touring flavour.Dealer pics:Obligatory forecourt shot after picking it up:My first diesel (other than rentals) so had to be really careful to make sure I'm using the correct pump.Must haves were Driver Assistant Professional, HUD, adaptive suspension, lumbar, heated steering wheel and Adaptive LEDs (if not lasers). It would have to be the Maserati. I love the interior. Same colour as in my GranTurismo and altho it s not for everyone I love it! Second would be the Jag. I recall first seeing one in Manchester centre when they first came out and being absolutely blown away. And I feel they ve stood the test of time exceptionally well.
