I have a 2016 Subaru Forester with a persistent “passenger airbag off” message and an illuminated airbag light on the instrument cluster. My current code reader doesn’t have the capacity to read any codes associated with that system, so any advice about an affordable code reader that would work for this particular problem would be welcome. Auto stalls at lower speeds(10 to 30 mph) when accelerating from a stop. After slowing as when entering a parking lot or making a turn, and then attempting to accelerate it stalls temporarily, maybe half a minute or so then accelerates like mad. Danger of cars behind me expecting me to proceed and I am unable to do so. Have requested toyoto dealer to check and as this is infrequent he can not confirm or fix.
