엔진 오일 API 인증 등급에 대한 질문 - SA(1930년대 차량용)부터 현재 표준 SN까지 다양한 등급이 있음. API 문서에 따르면 SJ(1997년 도입) 이전 등급들은 단종됨. SN은 2010년 10월 도입되었으며 2011년 이상 차량용으로 설계되었고, 피스톤의 고온 침전물 보호 개선, 더 엄격한 슬러지 제어, 씰 호환성 제공. SN with Resource Conserving은 ILSAC GF-5와 일치하며 API SN 성능과 연비 개선 결합
SN은 더 새롭고 발전된 오일 타입으로 더 많은 첨가제와 세정제를 포함하고 있음. SJ용으로 설계된 차량에 반드시 SN을 구매해야 하는가? 아니오. SN 또는 SJ 오일 중 어느 것을 사용할지는 전적으로 본인의 선택. 다만 차량이 설계된 등급보다 낮은 등급은 절대 사용하지 말 것!
