Incredible very much a poster car for me as a kid.So I'm amazed you haven't been asked but....did you manage to get double--figure MPG at any point?

Thanks all! It's been a couple of weeks now and the roof has hardly been on the car with all the sunshine we've been having....First on my list was to get the new tyres fitted. I wanted to lose the black wheels so dropped the car off for a wheel refurb to chrome powder coat then headed back with the new tyres as well. Bit of man maths and I saved money on having the tyres fitted, plus I knew they'd be careful since they just refinished the wheels! Originally the wheels would have been polished then lacquered but I've had chrome powder coat before on the lips of 3 piece wheels. I'm happy to give up that little bit of shine for very minimal maintenance. The new tyres feel decent, there's some tram lining as to be expected but they're confidence inspiring compared to the 2008 vintage ones!I took my girlfriend for a little trip out to Bafflehaus nearby, an excellent coffee shop with a car/bike theme. Parked well out of the way and happily it was uneventful. It does feel slightly mad driving a Dodge Viper around some wet Welsh roads! Next I wanted to get into catching up with the service items. The spark plugs must have been original (and I think everything else apart from the engine oil) I wasn't taking any chances and emptied a can of air cleaner into the plugs before I pulled them out. Half of them required a good soak in penetrating spray over night before they came out. A couple were right at the limit of how much effort I was happy to put into an aluminium head. I picked up a cheap borescope and had a look in each cylinder as I went out of interest as well. New plugs were £1 each from the USA, some basic copper Champion's but that's apparently the preference. I had bought some new plug wires/HT leads as well since the ones on the car were dated 1998! The Viper is pretty tough on the wires according to other owners and after 27 years of heat cycles it seemed like a good idea to replace them.
