If wanting an engine rather than an appliance is archaic, then I guess I'm a dinosaur with no place in the modern world. I'll be sticking to petrol thanks. Simply not interested in an electric car in the slightest. As I've said, get a proper engine in that and I'm all over it.I'm in the same camp, I love a good engine note. It makes the car. I've had some beautiful sounding cars, and will never be without a nice sounding car. However, I also recognise that modern normal engines are a bit st. And to get a 200-250bhp petrol engine in an R5 would be a 3 or 4 cylinder turbo'd 1.5/1.6 maybe 2.0. It would sounds crap. I get what you mean about small engines. With the 1.4 Turbo in mine, in standard form, it is awful whether low revs or high revs. Buzzy enough to make your teeth itch. I've heard ones with varying degrees of exhaust modifications and they do sound better. But for just £40 I found that with a bit of measuring and planning, I was able to change the standard air filter for a cone filter and the burble off that makes me chuckle every time. The hilarious bit was the insurance. They asked who did it and what qualifications they had but accepted "Me, none." "But it reduces power." I really don't care; the reduction in power < overall experience of driving the car. Plus I don't notice the 5bhp power loss.It is something I'll be doing whatever ICE car I get from now on.

Massive bill for a simple fix. It got me think back to my dads mk3 mondeo which was meant to be a bumper off job to swap a headlight bulb. I think the 2nd gen Renault Megane was the same. What else is there out there that requires a degree in engineering, a 4 poster lift and a snap on lorry full of tools to change a fuse or something equally as easy?

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
