Wow amazing work. Will you leave any of the carbon showing a la e46 CSL? as there aren't any gutters I guess it's a bit tricky to create a clean edge...certainly a decent weight saving and a smart way of getting rid of a leaky old sunroof.

Time for another update Not a lot seems to have happened on the 635 recently because whenever I start to do something I realise that I need to order something in order to proceed and then I'm waiting for stuff to turn up, in the meantime I start another job only to find myself in the same position, nevertheless progress has been made so it's all good.In an ideal world I would have liked to have got a heated front windscreen and then I could have saved more weight by doing away with the heater box but I couldn't find one so I had to work with what I've got Originally the blower speed was regulated via rheostat but rather than have the current passing through the controller on the dashboard there was a power transistor doing all the donkey work placed inside the heater box where it could be cooled by the blower. Unfortunately this little device has burned out because the heater blower was 80-90% seized, in fact it had got so hot that it melted the plastic that it was fastened to and was now dangling by it's wires inside the heater box, so firstly I need a new blower. I had a quick look on realoem.com, got the part number and started scouring the internet but couldn't find anything anywhere then I saw a picture of one for an E30 and it looked remarkably similar so I searched for the cheapest aftermarket one I could find so if it didn't work I hadn't wasted too much money and then I waited for it to arrive. When it arrived to my surprise it dropped straight in, in fact the only difference ( hence a different part number) was the size of the squirrel cage fans but a few twists later had those swapped over...... result.The next step was to be able to control the fan and I have to admit there was a brief moment where I considered making life really easy and having only full speed but I've never been in the habit of making life easy so I'm not going to start now. The problem I had was that the speed controller was also NLA, while searching eBay I found a heater control pan

Yes, you can test in the paddock with the valves closed but if you run on track with them closed the additional back-pressure kills the engine. BMW Z4 E85(2007년식) - 시동 후 파워 스티어링(동력 조향)이 갑자기 작동 중단되고 노란색 스티어링 휠 경고등이 점등됨. 전압 측정 결과 약 13.1V~13.3V로 저하. 발전기 프리휠(overrunning clutch)이 불량이었음. 발전기 프리휠과 레귤레이터를 완전히교체했음. 현재 배터리와 전압은 정상 상태이고 엔진도 양호함. 하지만 노란색 스티어링 휠 경고등이 계속 점등되고 파워 스티어링이 여전히 작동하지 않음.
M135i 구매 후 첫 서비스와 MoT 예정. BMW 메인 딜러가 과도하게 문제를 부풀릴 수 있다는 우려. 딜러가 타이어 트레드 깊이를 자세히 언급하며 불필요한 부품 교체를 권유하는 경향 있음.
