증상

With the upcoming Continental trip certain things are needed. A warning triangle being one of those things…No bother I say to SWMBO there’s one fitted in every Audi….Of course the car made me out to be a liarA quick search on eBay and I found a new old stock listed for £20 delivered That’s better…..In other news I finally finished the side step after all the pieces required came in the post It’s like it was never there, so that’s another job jobbed!!!

as i mentioned the other day the centre arm rest was showing signs of wear. It having that soft touch plastic coatingyou can't really see it from the drivers seat, but i know it's there... staring at me, mocking me...a lot of the used ones on eBay were in even worse condition, i did (briefly) consider spraying it but one late night eBay search i found a decent one from a 2014, so it had the upgrade to the chrome ring around the cupholder, so feeling quite decadent and wanting to treat SWMBO to something sparkly i bought it for the princely sum of £16.37 delivered...importantly the plastic coating was a 100 times better, however the leather arm rests were notknowing they come to bits my plan was to make 1 good from the 2, as the leather on my original ones were perfect.However whomever owned the Q7 this arm rest came from clearly looked after the poor thing well...!!!it is minging...anyway to start with it was a case of remove the original item.It starts at getting the vent out, a pull tool is required. I didn't have one, so i made one.which gets the vent out(don't panic, it was cleaned later on)remove the console cover and the inner air guide and it reveals an upside down single screwundo that and it's outto disassemble you start by removing the hinge pinsthey drift out easily enough, do them both, being careful to not scratch that delicate plastic coating (definite white glove moments lol)once they are out of the way you pull the 3 rubber mats out of the cup holders and tray and it reveals 4 screws, undo them and they carefully separate the upper and lower halves, extreme careful here so as not to inflict any damage.The inside of the arm rest was no better...i'm glad i spilt them as this rattling around the inside would have drove me nuts...but yay, free money...!!!everything was washed in hot soapy water and dried with a microfibreand reassembly could startmuch cleaner and smelled better tooand all back togetherthen it was just a case of putting it back in the Q7a
