Maybe because you need to buy a 6 or 7 seater? A lot of the reason for buying one of these things is for the load capacity, and for this specific one it's because you want the quick version of the fat car you're stuck with. You're never starting by looking at one of these for sweeping along narrow roads. Exactly this. It's really not hard to understand We've had XC90s since our kids were born. Fitting two kids, two grandparents (not all the time, but sufficiently often to matter) and all chattels for the beach, or a fully laden holiday or taking said kids and a few mates to football etc ain't happening in a 2 door M3 CS The speed thing just makes it more interesting. We tested the EV9 when it first came out (not full fat GT, but GT Line). Very nice car. Had Kia been doing offers like Volvo were we'd probably have one now rather than our third XC90 (current on is a T8 - PHEVs are the worst of all worlds I now know. But the XC90 is still a quality place to spend time).cerb4.5lee said: It's still diabolical for the money in my view though. Not to mention the fact that we've done 30k miles a year in our long distance car for 20 years now as well. I appreciate that almost everyone just pops around the corner to the shop for example though(so an electric car is ideal for that for definite), but some of us do actually use our cars though to be fair. Plus I've also got my Caterham for my 7 mile trip to be fair as well(or under 20 miles anyway), so I totally get it don't get me wrong. That's only done just over 5k miles now and it's 24 years old for example, so I can put my feet in the shoes of the majority of folk that don't drive many miles at least as well. However I still wouldn't borrow this for over £80k though either way to be honest. You still loitering around EV threads all the time Lee

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
