hmmm, one car? what sort of nightmareish scenario is that?! I am firmly in the camp of multiple cars to do specific jobs, without compromise so this is difficult for me.It would need to be an estate (for dogs) Needs to be manual, NA and noisy (for me)E61 M5 with a manual conversion.

There is no 'correct' answer.Personally this wouldn't even make my top ten.I was going to say "What, you don't want a massive money pit that attracts car thieves like flies to dung?" - but then saw what your own preference would be Valid, but unlike in London, FFRRs are perfectly insurable where I live. Yep, I'd keep a Range Rover of some description on the driveway too. It would be quite nice to have a more up to date version of my RRS (L494) and we don't have a theft problem where I live either - not that there really is one any more after the campaign by LR. I don't actually know what the car in the picture is. It looks German, so it's either a Mercedes, a BMW or an Audi. I think it's one of those Racing Skodas. RS something.

I wonder whether the F10 will prove to be a sweet-spot in future. With the next one getting even bigger, four wheel drive and a whole host of nannying 'safety' features, this may be the last of the real monsters!illmonkey said: I knew you were doing

Initially looked at the V10 M5/6 but ended up buying a very low mileage CLS63 which I still own. Since then I've owned five in total and my other half has had four of them. I've had 2 C43s and 2 E500s. Big-engined Mercs have always offered an effortless way to transport people over long distances.
I did the backbox delete on my M5 and the noise was heavenly. The only downside was you lost the intake noise as the exhaust was that much louder. I've heard a bunch of aftermarket exhausts and for me, the delete is the best sounding and also the cheapest.

(I have a 911 turbo S, it has all the huff and puff to keep EV's firmly in the rear view mirror..)At least if you wear crocks in public, they allow your soul to slowly flow out of the holes, EV's take it away from you when you make some form of argument about any benefits or reason for owning one....Rant over, ready

Such a shame to see what has become of the Volvo brand specifically. They used to make some great, functional, comfortable interiors. Hard to believe now, but they had a reputation for safety as the pioneered things like seatbelts and crumple zones while keeping things very ergonomic, allowing the driver to concentrate on the road ahead.Edited by ducnick on Wednesday 19th August 09:37
