Both my boys had a BB policy none of them had any issues in their first year. I treated it like a learning year and they had to stick to the rules as they gained the essential experience. I didn’t want the “youth” pressure of having mates in cars and doing stuff that we all got away with on the roads these days. After that first year their renewals dropped well below the BB policy price, I thought it was worth it for the peace of mind and value.

That's why I didn't get it for Mrs Foolish when she passed her driving test (mind you her insurnace was only about £600 or something. I can get behind the idea that hard braking is a bad thing but hard acceleration? I mean what even is hard accelleration? On any thing vaguely normal hard braking is dead easy to measure as it's basically the same thing, >0.7g (say - just making up numbers). Hard accelleration not so much due to performance differentials, anyone used to pistonheads worthy car is going to have their right foot firewalled permanently on any sort of learner car, doesn't mean anything. If you are named driver you can do what you want in the car. It is only the Main Driver that requires having the App (This is for Hastings) My daughter is on her second year and only paying 700 quid for Grande Punto Sporting T-Jet.Next year she will be going on a normal policy but we have had zero issues with the black box and she did 15,000 miles in her first year!

A neighbour had one of these and I used to love hearing him start it up in the morning (he also had a V Twin Buell which was even noisier). Top bloke.
