증상
현대 i30 1600cc 디젤 오토, 주행거리 60,000마일. 약 10개월 전 추운 날씨(화씨 50~60도)에서 시동 어려움. 글로우 플러그 교체 후 호전되었으나, 현재 다시 같은 증상 발생. 기온 화씨 40~50도 범위에서 엔진이 첫 시동에 걸리지 않음. 글로우 플러그 경고등이 시동 전에 몇 초간 점등됨.
처리 내용
스타터가 크랭킹 중 회전 속도를 높이므로 배터리에서 스타터까지의 배선 연결 불량을 의심. 배터리에서 스타터로 가는 대형 케이블을 분리하고 와이어 브러시로 단자를 깨끗이 닦은 후 다시 연결하면 스타터 회전 속도가 크게 개선될 수 있음. 배터리 커넥터, 배터리 단자, 배터리에서 차체로 가는 어스 스트랩 연결부도 함께 청소. 이 작업 시 배터리 음극(-)을 먼저 분리하고 마지막에 다시 연결.
