They feel like style over substance. Why does someone choose one of these over say a Suzuki Vitara which seems similarly priced but better equipped, more refined and altogether better value?I still choose to drive the Panda over our i5, which is way, way better equipped. The Panda is just a simple, great little thing.

What is it about these daft little Fiats?I’ve been fortunate enough to have some nice cars over the years - Ferrari F355 20+ years ago, Westfield SEIW, Aston V8 Vantage currently and a near-500bhp Fiat Coupe somewhere in between.However, it’s two of my ‘sheds’ that I miss the most. My mega-mile Alfa GT (part-ex’d at 268,000 miles) and my ratty old 169 Panda 4x4. It was probably the slowest car I’ve ever owned (not the noisiest - that accolade goes to the Westie). However, it was a hoot to drive at 11/10, because I was still only doing the national speed limit.Gratuitous Panda piccyThe Yeti 4x4 that replaced the Panda is an order of magnitude better in every measurable aspect, but somehow, it’s not as good. Go figure…
