It is just quieter and more refined than having an engine droning on for 2.5 hours at what ever revs. We just don't often do many longer distance journeys, but most places we go are within striking distance of the range on our EV.Have you been in a modern ICE car? They're as quiet as mouses at 70mph, even my F82 M4 is for example. From our experience. EV, journies are more relaxed. Jumping back in to an ICE car feels like something from the last century, mechanical and clunky by comparison. Now, that can be a good thing, right day, right road, but on a long family journey, not so much.We've a return trip to Belfast to do tomorrow. There'll be traffic though not commuting level traffic. Probably 100 miles return. 80% of it will be motorway. No doubt it'll be the Tesla thats going rather than the Z4. It'll be sitting at 08:30 precooled and ready to go.At 70mph on a motorway in either petrol/diesel or electric, I genuinely can't tell what powers any of them, because they're all as smooth and refined as each other to me. Obviously electric will be smoother than a diesel at low revs pulling away don't get me wrong, but once rolling, even the X5 is smooth and really quiet though for a diesel. The revs are incredibly low at 70mph in both the M4 with the DCT in 7th, and the auto in the X5 in 8th gear for example. You don't hear the engines at all at that
