증상
3단 기어에서 주행 중 급하게 브레이크를 밟거나 가속을 멈추면 3단이 니트럴 위치로 빠짐. 다시 3단을 넣을 때 클러치를 제대로 작동하지 않은 것처럼 소음이 발생함.
처리 내용
설명으로 봐서는 클러치 마모가 진행 중인 것으로 보임. 클러치 사용 중 브레이크에서 타는 냄새가 나면 이를 확인할 수 있음. 또한 엔진 RPM이 차량 속도와 선형으로 증가하지 않으면 주의. 즉, 저속에서 3단 기어로 주행 중 짧은 시간 동안 강하게 액셀을 밟았을 때 엔진 RPM은 올라가지만 차량 속도는 크게 증가하지 않으면 클러치 슬립 증상. 다시 검토한 결과, 3단 싱크로나이저(동기화장치) 마모일 가능성도 있음.

I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.

I think it is a shame to lose one of the distinctive features of the 944 (the wrap around rear screen).Proportions from rear three-quarters are also a bit too Scimitar for my taste but each to their own.
