2011 Ford Focus에서 3개월 내에 나사로 인해 두 개의 타이어가 펑크. Costco와 Discount Tires에서는 4개 타이어 모두 교체하거나 최소 2개 타이어 교체를 권장. 교체 타이어는 동일한 스피드 레이팅이어야 함. Ford에서 단일 타이어(Hankook Optimo OEM, $135)를 구할 수 있고, Discount Tires에서는 로드해저드가 포함된 Yokohama 2개를 구할 수 있음.
처리 내용
단일 타이어 교체는 절대 권장되지 않음. 각 타이어는 서로 다른 성능 특성을 가지고 있으며, 일상적인 운전 중에는 차이를 느끼지 못할 수 있지만 긴급 회피, 회전, 빗속 제동 등의 상황에서 예상치 못한 차량 동작이 발생할 수 있음. 또한 보험사에 문의하면 타이어 불일치로 인한 "부적절한 유지보수"를 이유로 사고 시 보험 처리가 거부될 수 있음. 앞뒤 타이어를 다르게 장착하는 것은 위험하며, 유사한 타이어라도 성능 차이가 있음. 단순 나사 펑크는 일반적으로 수리 가능하나, 펑크 상태에서 계속 주행하지 않아야 함.
