증상
VW Golf TSI 중고차 구매 후 연료 덮개의 타이어 공기압 표시 확인. 저하중(2bar) 시 전후 2.0bar, 고하중(5bar +짐) 시 전 2.3bar, 후 2.8bar로 큰 차이 발생. 일반적인 주행이 저하중과 고하중을 거의 동등하게 하므로 매번 공기압 조정이 불가능한 상황.
처리 내용
모든 공기압을 2.4bar로 설정하여 주입할 것을 권장. 이유: (1) 타이어는 시간 경과에 따라 자연적으로 공기압 손실 발생 - 2.4bar로 충전하면 다음 충전 시 약 2.3bar 수준으로 하강 (2) 타이어 로테이션 시 전후 압력이 다르면 매번 재조정 필요 - 같은 압력 유지 시 편의성 증대 (3) 제조사 권장압보다 높은 공기압은 일반적으로 문제없음 - 타이어는 매우 높은 압력까지 견딤. 과압 상태의 연비 개선은 있으나 승차감 저하. 따라서 2.4bar는 저하중 조건에서 약간 높지만 고하중 조건에서는 적절하며, 실용적인 타협점으로 최적 선택.

약 1만 마일 전에 워터펌프 어셈블리, 엔진 오일 쿨러, 냉각수 저수조를 교체하고 엔진을 플러시했습니다. 고객이 2천 마일 전부터 냉각수 누수를 호소했고, 워터펌프의 뒷부분 벨트 부근에서 누수가 발견되었습니다.

16v was a real performance car. I don’t know how they sold so many 8v cars, when back in the mid 80’s you could get a Fiat Strada 130 TC Abarth or Lancia Delta 1.6 HF Turbo for similar money.
