Why does it need to be fixed? People in flats in inner cities tend not to need cars and/ or have access to other forms of transport. For example, many of my friends in Jakarta have given up cars, despite having parking spaces, as the hassle of traffic and finding parking at the other end means that an Uber is far more convenient. I owned a car for a while in HK as a pure leisure item (the driving roads are amazing), but didn t bother in Japan, London or Singapore. Japan and London I would just rent one if I wanted to go on a road trip.+1I think theres a mindset change that needs to happen in the UK. Too many people living in cities have an absolute expectation to have access to at least one car, often two.
