Quite convenient for people who fundamentally want to restrict private car use, that. Weight is a factor in wear, but so is tyre choice, vehicle performance, and "enthusiastic" driving. Careful what you wish for.ADAC looked at the amount of material lost from tyres. There were big differences between brands and between tyres. Michelin best. Budget tyres bad, with the exception of some budget tyres they considered to have unacceptably poor performance. Cheap, good, low wear - pick two. Except that regulation would fix wear, so you'd have to pick one.(Their lowest wear tyre was the Michelin e-primacy, which is what I have on my EV.
