I'll be charitable and call the overall shape and glasshouse a 'tribute' to the Defender, but that little body-coloured square is just taking the proverbial.

JLR, VW, all have had plenty of time to make their own changes - now the investments they (and our Governments didn't make) are coming home to roost.China is a well organised communist machine…. Germany have cooked their golden goose with legislation not to mention unionised staff and all the other things that can be of benefit but also detriment in the west. Euro products still feel much much better than their Chinese counterparts but I doubt people care…… one of the disappointments with the race to the pricing bottom is some of the current generation of euro cars (I spend a lot of time in the latest 5 series which isn’t a patch on the previous generations fixtures and fittings for example) are now being made with lower quality presumably to compete. It’ll be beyond difficult to compete with china on mass so probably better to focus on quality, feel, heritage and go back up market….. euro brands may not have a head start any longer on development but are still well ahead on brand perception.

Cupra dealers can be pretty thin on the ground and for our SEAT, the dealer we used, who were spectacularly useless, don t do Cupra. Ours had an issue that I got VW Assist out for - they couldn t come until next day and then told me of the two nearest dealers they could only take me to one of them as the other didn t have any SEAT technicians.Theres a Seat / Cupra dealer (Snows) not far away from me on the Eastern Road, Portsmouth. They seem generally good, although parking there is a clusterfang.I hav

A neighbour had one of these and I used to love hearing him start it up in the morning (he also had a V Twin Buell which was even noisier). Top bloke.
