A friend of mine has a GL63 which has an amazing spec but they are huge and thirsty. Top be honest, many of the parts on the GL mechanically speaking would be the same as other 350 models of the range. Engine and gearbox shouldn't be any better/worse than a CLS/ML/E/S350cdi. Not pennies to run but it's not like running a full fat AMG. Other specific GL parts would be costly in part due to their rarity. Nothing to say a cheap GL couldn't make a good car but like any high end car that's depreciated, there's still room for a costly repair. I just wouldn't buy one with a problem like this one. I'd rather spend more and get a working one! hahaI remember the first time I went in an ML years back(I think it was around 2007/8), and I thought it was a lovely thing at the time for sure. These are massive in comparison though for sure! I've always fancied the idea of a GLS or an X7 for example, but I just think they're arguably just too big really though.
