F56 great buy! I picked up a 2yr old Cooper SD in 2017 and still have it. Whoever spec'd it did a great job as its got every extra except sunroof, Harmon stereo and front parking sensors - even has adaptive cruise, LED lights and HUD!Run flats were the worse thing when I got it as it rides on the 18" alloys, dropping into a pothole would bulge the sidewalls writing off the tyre! When I swapped to normal tyres it transformed the ride quality. Putting it in 'Sport' with the adaptive dampers switching to firm does jar over rough roads surfaces.I've been buying updated maps online for it every few

So I managed to get back on this today for part 2. Taking off the bumper (and subsequently putting it back on) is genuinely the easiest part. Detaching the plinth from the bumper was indeed a pain in the arse!I will get some better before and after pics but it's definitely worth the hassle however I don't want to do it again in a hurry. BeforeSnapping off old clips was a must!Taking the bumper off on its own wasn't enough. You have to remove the grill and chrome trim (including it's own clips) first to get at it!Finally removed!Reassembled everything Back on the car!I contemplated refreshing a few bits whilst the bumper was off, namely the bumper lights, adding spot lights, replacing the chrome trim and going black...... however once reassembled I was happy with the look and to be honest I quite like chrome on darker cars. The wheels will be going a lighter colour at some point too. It goes in on Friday to have all the dents removed then I'm going to pay someone more talented than I am to refresh the suspension. On another note, I've been reading up about the cold start fumes on these and interestingly I've come across a few posts suggesting a DME update was needed on their cars which sorted out cold start, rough running, fumes. Clearly it's a specialist / dealer only job but I might investigate it. Edited by MTK1919 on Wednesday 2nd September 07:21

Been and collected it this lunchtime after another test drive and I read the codes whilst out & about and thankfully zero issues Will collect the 18" alloys & winter tyres ASAP and then sell the 403Ms off; they've just been refurbed but a) I don't like them that much, b) not a fan of black wheels at all and c) the RFTs are crap Parts already been ordered (OEM velour mats and M Sport grilles via Cotswolds BMW) and a full oil & filter change kit etcThe parts list will continue to grow haha
