Now, this may be a function of fuel pricing, either EV drivers suddenly deciding 'fk it, let's up our pace' or more likely down to the diesel warriors bailing and deciding to hyper mile so the remaining cars stand out more. But we are now a solid 3 years into EV sales so I suspect that first wave of dull as fk, 5mph eco and budget champs have been surpassed in number by normal people who drive normally?If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say that the spike in fuel costs and its influence on the budget conscious happens to coincide with the appearance of EV buyers who don't give a fk about costs or are indeed, as you suggest, enjoying that absence of costs that are linked to speed. Unless I'm doing a journey that will result in public charging and / or more than 200 miles (maybe two or three times a year) I drive my EV in sport mode with zero regard for efficiency, because I know I'll be recharging it for 'pennies' overnight regardless.
