증상

2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Wagon의 승객석 뒷타이어가 손상됨. 현재 타이어 트레드는 약 6/32" 남아있음 (동전으로 측정). Nokian 타이어는 신품 시 11/32" 트레드 깊이. Tire Rack 자료에 따르면 Subaru는 트레드 깊이 편차를 2/32" 이내로 제한할 것을 권장함. 차량 매뉴얼에서는 구체적인 편차 허용치를 명시하지 않음.

처리 내용

매칭되는 타이어가 필요함. AWD 차량은 트레드 깊이 불일치 시 문제가 발생할 수 있음. 디퍼렌셜과 점성 커플링은 코너링 시 순간적인 휠 속도 차이를 허용하도록 설계되었으나, 타이어 불일치로 인해 상시 작동하게 되면 과열 및 과도한 마모가 발생하여 최종적으로 드라이브트레인 고장으로 이어질 수 있음. 권장 옵션: 4개 타이어 모두 교체. 대안으로 신품 타이어를 기존 타이어와 깊이를 맞추도록 삭감하는 방법도 있으나, 4개 모두 교체하는 것이 가장 안전한 선택임.
