Fantastic car to aquire. I've always admired these, it's a fantastic design and the interior is just brilliant. I was wondering which car was going to need your soon-to-be-aquired welding skills.

Thanks all - well, I won't bury the headline - the 166 is taxed, insured and has completed 80 miles of winding A and B roads in torrential downpours. No major alarms sounding, just additions to the to-do list.As suspected, the front right has a slow puncture, with a few reinflation calculaitons it is losing a psi every 2 hours. Its either new tyres (235/40/18) all round on this Ti rims or <redacted>...There are dents and dings all around, it may look good in the photos but this Alfa has had a proper life. The main ones I want to rectify or improve are a ding on top of the front right wing, and the naster bollard/boulder scrape at the rear left quarter.Further pre-flight checks yielded no notable defects in lights or general running gear. The rear brakes are shot but the fronts are in good order and cleaned up with a few revolutions. I checked the torque on all the wheel bolts and yes, I had a good spare that was inflated correctly, a pump and some basic tools.With the impending inclement weather, I had purchased replacement wipers.Silent, faultless wiperage commenced.After a quick local Saturday morning swim trip to just ensure nothing was leaking or untoward......only one key item remained in the path of stylish executive wafting:Both Walter De Silva and Daniele Gaglione would have shuddered. It was also faded and slightly missing, so off it came.I keyed in my target - Ringwood, to a friend's storage unit, from Cirencester... let's go for no motorways and the scenic route... ah, perfect. Let's add a Shell station about 20 minutes away so I can double check the tyres are not deflating and top off the tank with E5.The driving experience, despite shot rear springs, tired suspension and stale fuel, was remarkable. It is a stark contrast to the 164, which is very much in tuen with the road and lets you know about it - the 166 is better insulated, has wonderful seats and I really, really like the dial and vent setup. Steering is a little vaguer, the rear suspension here
