증상
1997 쉐보레 서버번의 뒷브레이크 편마모 현상 발생. 여객석(우측) 드럼 브레이크 슈는 프론트 디스크 패드와 비슷한 마모도를 보이는데, 운전석(좌측) 리어 드럼 브레이크 슈는 약 2배 정도 더 마모되어 있음. 드럼은 시각적 홈이나 손상이 없고 매끄러운 상태.
처리 내용
편마모는 정상이 아님. 가능한 원인: 1) 덜 마모된 측 슈가 더 최근에 교체됨 2) 주차브레이크 케이블 조정 불량 3) 주차브레이크 케이블 손상/부식/고착(마모된 측) 4) 마모된 측 브레이크 메커니즘 부분 고착 5) 마모된 측 유압 실린더 고착. 가장 마모된 측이 제동 후 제대로 해제되지 않아 과도한 마모가 발생할 가능성이 높음. 진단 방법: 양쪽 뒷바퀴를 안전하게 들어올리고 악스탠드로 지지(정상 주행 높이 유지). 풋브레이크를 강하게 밟은 후 해제. 주차브레이크를 강하게 당긴 후 해제. 양쪽 뒷바퀴를 손으로 회전시켜보기 - 한쪽이 더 돌리기 어려운지 확인. 특정 온도에서만 고착되는 경우도 있을 수 있음.

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.
