증상
엔진이 감속할 때 꺼짐. 특히 브레이크 시 발생하지만 후진 중 브레이크는 문제없음. 휠 락업 상태에서는 엔진 정상. 유압 누기 없음(휘파람음 없고 호스 온전). 아이들링, 시동, 가속은 정상. 브레이크 기능도 정상.
처리 내용
연료 리프터 펌프(Mk1의 2번째 연료 펌프) 고장. Mk1 캐브리올레는 2개의 연료 펌프를 장착함 - 메인 펌프(차량 하단 또는 엔진룸)와 연료 탱크 내부의 리프터/전송 펌프(리어 시트 제거로 접근 가능). 리프터 펌프의 베어링 손상으로 인해 펌프가 작동하지 않음. 메인 펌프만으로는 정상 주행은 가능하지만 브레이킹 시 G포스로 인해 연료 압력이 부족해 엔진 꺼짐 발생. 리프터 펌프 교체로 해결.

약 1만 마일 전에 워터펌프 어셈블리, 엔진 오일 쿨러, 냉각수 저수조를 교체하고 엔진을 플러시했습니다. 고객이 2천 마일 전부터 냉각수 누수를 호소했고, 워터펌프의 뒷부분 벨트 부근에서 누수가 발견되었습니다.
32년 후 순정 머플러에 균열이 생기기 시작했습니다.
16v was a real performance car. I don’t know how they sold so many 8v cars, when back in the mid 80’s you could get a Fiat Strada 130 TC Abarth or Lancia Delta 1.6 HF Turbo for similar money.

Synchro, 1.8L 16v G-Ladder supercharged making 210bhp and 186lb ft, BBS RM012's, ABS brakes, single headlights, and a tiny little motorsport badge as VW Motorsport put them together. Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.

I think it is a shame to lose one of the distinctive features of the 944 (the wrap around rear screen).Proportions from rear three-quarters are also a bit too Scimitar for my taste but each to their own.
