The UK North Sea oil and gas licensing regime is regulated by the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) under the Petroleum Act 1998, which vests all petroleum rights in the Crown. We simply didn't create a sovereign wealth fund and pretended the money would carry on rolling in. We still tax to 78% so the government can make a tidy income and cut to to say 58%. Which could be invest within the UK.It's away the same with recent governments , no economic understanding or wanting to be pragmatic, pure eco zealots.
