This is pretty much exactly where I was 4 years ago. I had a fun car (MX5), but needed something reliable to go with it to get me to work and do tip runs and such. The Duster has been bloody brilliant. 100% reliable, plenty of space for moving crap about, and all the toys I could want - although I'm jealous of your heated steering wheel! For the money it is, and mine was about 23k, I don't think more would get you something massively 'better'. It's good to drive, comfy, and the stereo's good. Main pros - it's genuinely quite fun to hustle along and the 3 Cylinder turbo engine is good if you keep it in the torque range. It's also very efficient with my mixed motorway and country lane use I'm at 45mpg average. The 'extreme' trim kit is great as you get rubber mats and seats that are super resilient and just wipe clean. In addition seats are comfortable and the heating element of the steering wheel and seats are great. Then finally all the tech is easy to use and just works. Drawbacks - it's a bit noisier on the motorway than the Merc mainly around the A pillar, the stereo is okay but no where near what my Merc was. It is sprightly on a country road but it is not fast, my old E Class was genuinely rapid but that only really saw super benefit on the continent or coming off a slip road. Biggest thing overall for me though as a positive, my costs for running a daily car have dropped through the floor. It sips petrol, if it breaks it's Dacias issue. I'm also still quite proud of it and do look after it which I think is testament to the little thing given what I've owned previously. One big advice from me... Avoid the auto full hybrid in my opinion that is below par and where the car feels a lot cheaper than more upmarket counterparts. Good car
